Ingredients

2 cups of fresh cranberries (or frozen berries thawed)

1 ¼ cup of water

¾ cup of medjool dates

1 small apple (I used macintosh), washed and chopped with peel on

Preparation

  1. Combine berries, water, dates and chopped apple in a saucepan
  2. Bring to a boil
  3. Let it boil for 2-3 minutes
  4. Reduce heat and let it simmer for 5-10 minutes or until the sauce is thicker
  5. When the sauce has a thicker consistency, set it aside and let it cool for a few minutes
  6. Blend sauce with an immersion blender or let it cool more and use a food processor
  7. Enjoy right away for a warm sauce or chill for a thicker consistency
