Ingredients
2 cups of fresh cranberries (or frozen berries thawed)
1 ¼ cup of water
¾ cup of medjool dates
1 small apple (I used macintosh), washed and chopped with peel on
Preparation
- Combine berries, water, dates and chopped apple in a saucepan
- Bring to a boil
- Let it boil for 2-3 minutes
- Reduce heat and let it simmer for 5-10 minutes or until the sauce is thicker
- When the sauce has a thicker consistency, set it aside and let it cool for a few minutes
- Blend sauce with an immersion blender or let it cool more and use a food processor
- Enjoy right away for a warm sauce or chill for a thicker consistency
